Hilliard Christian School has been providing quality Christian education to the community since 1901. It is situated in a beautiful bushland setting at West Moonah with panoramic views along the Derwent River.
A values-based education with teachers who truly care
Hilliard cultivates and encourages an atmosphere of tolerance and respect for others, including peers, parents and teachers. There is recognition of differences and affirmation of individual skills, abilities and positive personal attributes. Students are encouraged to do their best at all times and to participate in community and charity projects.
The future holds many challenges and opportunities. With more parents concerned about our uncertain future, they are looking for an education for their children that will equip them mentally, socially, physically, emotionally and spiritually to deal positively with the challenges ahead. Hilliard Christian School offers parents the values-based education they are looking for and has done so for more than one hundred years.
Hilliard is a school where students are developed in an environment built around our four key values (Belonging, Integrity, Respect and Perseverance). The school believes that these values are best understood within the framework of a Christian Worldview.

Our philosophy
Hilliard Christian School provides schooling for children from Kindergarten to Year 10. The school is part of the worldwide Seventh-day Adventist School System and is operated by the Seventh-day Adventist church for young people desiring an educational experience based on a Christian philosophy. This philosophy touches every aspect of their lives.
Our objectives
Hilliard Christian School is a community that seeks excellence in the development and expression of each individual’s God given talents and gifts in service to both the school and the wider community. The fostering of caring, redemptive relationships is the core of our community.
Our beliefs
Seventh-day Adventists accept the Bible as the only source of our beliefs. Seventh-day Adventist beliefs are meant to permeate your whole life. Growing out of scriptures that paint a compelling portrait of God, you are invited to explore, experience and know the One who desires to make us whole.
