Boys – Conservative haircuts, to be kept tidy and away from the eyes. Extreme haircuts/styles are not permitted eg. spiked; undercut; wedge cut; dread locked, mullets. Hair below collar length must be tied back. Note: unnatural hair colouring and obvious hair styling products are unacceptable.

Boys – Religious jewellery may be discreetly worn if permission is granted by the Relevant Coordinator as discussed at enrolment or subsequent meeting. One small plain silver or gold sleeper or stud per ear may be worn. These must be worn in the ear lobe. All other piercings must be concealed with a natural or clear retainer.

Students are permitted to wear light, natural foundation or sunscreen to match their skin tone.
Students may wear clear nail polish.
All other make-up products are not permitted.
Students attending Hilliard Christian School are expected to maintain high standards of grooming. Due care and attention must be paid to a neat and tidy appearance both within and outside the school grounds.
The Uniform has a variety of options to cater for individual preferences and for the changing Tasmanian weather conditions. Please note that the formal uniform options may not be worn with the Sports Uniform options.
All formal occasions and events such as Leaders Commissioning Service, Awards Presentations and Open Days will require students to wear their full formal uniform, including their navy formal Hilliard jumper in the winter months and blazers for secondary school students.
The welfare of our students is of primary importance. In view of the general concern about the high incidence of skin cancer in Australia in accordance with the recommendations of the Australian Cancer Society and widespread medical opinion, hats will be worn by students whenever they are outside to minimise the risk of skin cancer. Students are expected to apply sunscreen prior to leaving home and to reapply throughout the day with their own sunscreen supplied from home.
Hats are the school hat in their house color
Hats must be kept clean and in good condition. Students will be required to repair or replace hats in poor condition within two weeks of notification.
All items of clothing must be clearly labelled with the student’s name.
Students may come to school on an assigned fundraising day as designated throughout the year in clothing other than their school uniform.
Non-uniform days are organised by the Student Representative Council who will donate the funds to an approved charity organisation of their recommendation, in consultation with the School Chaplain.

The sports uniform is worn on days where the students are timetabled for HPE and sports activities. All other days, formal uniform is required.
Parents may purchase the tracksuit as separate pieces; however, the whole tracksuit is to be worn if cover is required for the legs for winter. It is not acceptable to wear non-uniform tracksuit pants.
In Upper Primary, tracksuits may only be worn with the sports uniform and must not be worn with the formal uniform at any time.
The correct College uniform must be worn to and from College.
All staff are responsible for ensuring students are correctly attired according to the Uniform Regulations and should discipline or counsel students accordingly, whilst exercising appropriate discretion.
Uniform infringements will be managed under a series of escalating consequences in accordance with the Student Behaviour Management Policy.
